I just got word of the passing of another seagoing cowboy on January 10. N. Dale Hostetler was part a special crew put together of Mennonite high school and college boys. They sailed to Poland on the S. S. Stephen R. Mallory June 19, 1946.
Rest in peace, Dale.
Peggy, I had opportunity to share some of my experiences as a cowboy when I spoke at the 70th anniversary event in Sacramento last October. I am attaching that speech herewith. I attended two shipments by ship and others by truck and air. I hope you enjoy these stories.

Hello, Bill,
I’m so glad you were able to participate in the Sacramento event. You bring such a wealth of history with you when you speak. You had emailed me a copy of your speech in November, for which I am grateful, because the attachment didn’t come through this time. You must have responded to the email in which the blog post came, and those responses go straight to the blog.
Enjoy that California sunshine! It’s 10 degrees here in Indiana today!
